I have also seen those same students get caught and simply rinse it complete as if the professor was being too unappeasable an d infringing upon their rights, altogether ! oblivious to the rude and disrespectful nature of their actions. The humanistic-existential base musical theme of being completely in control of your personal behavior and actions is very applicable to the in-class text messaging scenario. The choice to carry and use a cell phone in class is entirely up to the student, especially in college where roughly all students are legal adults.
